As far as events go, getting married ranks high up on the list and will be one of the most important days of your life. And as such, there is a ton of work and planning that will go into your wedding day. There’s a good chance that your bride to be will be taking care of most of the details, but there’s still more than enough work to go around for you. In this post, we’ll just cover a few of the things you should keep in mind when planning this special day.
First you need to pick out the engagement ring and once she says yes (she will!) you should discuss the wedding plans with your bride to be and immediate family. Then of course you have to select your best man, groomsmen and ushers.
Next, about 8 months before the big date, you should meet with the officiant—whoever will be conducting the ceremony. Also, you need to coordinate your guest list and began discussing your honeymoon.
The next thing you should do is arrange transportation to the ceremony for the wedding party and to the reception if it is in a different location. Make your final decisions concerning your tux and make sure your honeymoon arrangements are set.
Now the day of the wedding is rapidly approaching! About 3 months before your guest list should be completed and you should be picking out gifts for your bride and groomsmen. Then of course you have to shop for wedding rings, make sure you find ones that you will be happy with for the rest of your life. Then you need to plan the rehearsal dinner and get fitted for your tux.
Now we’re just a month away and you should be getting your marriage license. It’s also a good idea to get your living space together if the two of you aren’t already sharing a space.
Now two weeks before it is time for the bachelor party! Try not to have too much fun. Also, don’t forget to adjust insurance policies, bank accounts and the like.
Now the week before the wedding you need to make sure you have the money for tips and to pay the officiant. Then you need to grab your tux and make the very final preparations for your honeymoon. Next try to relax and enjoy your rehearsal dinner. The whole process has been stressful but take heart, the big day is almost upon you.
Now it’s the big day! If you’ve minded your p’s and q’s this entire time there shouldn’t be much to do, but it never hurts to double check some of the details. Most importantly you should enjoy your wedding and take it slow.
